Dublin Photo Walk 11th April ‘09

March 25th, 2009

dublin spire o'connell street

A Photo Walk will be taking place in Dublin City Centre on Saturday 11th April.

Come along whether you have a small or large camera. Photo Walks are about meeting other photographers, exchanging ideas and taking photographs – sometimes getting to try out the more expensive equipment I can’t afford!

We will be meeting at 2pm by the Spire/Needle on O’Connell Street.
There is currently no set plan, route of destination – as long as there is a beer at the end.

If you have any suggestions for places to photograph around Dublin (even outside the city centre) then let me know via comments.

Hope you can be there!

Register attendance on Facebook.

Personally, I’m more than partial to walking around Killiney Hill with my camera. Other good spots (in that area) are Dun Laoghaire piers (East/West & Breakwaters).

Thanks for organising this Phil. I will make it along as soon as I can but I fear I probably won’t make it until you’re all in the pub!

Sounds great. A brilliant place for photos is the Subway on Westmoreland St with all it’s €3 Ham subs ;) j/k

Older parts of Dublin, like the Liberties are always fascinating. Also anywhere in the vicinity of James’ gate with markets, antique shops and the like.

Oh I want to do this. I’d suggest starting down the non-tourist end of this. North Earl Street and go the LONG way around in a ring (through ISFC) to the Liberties.

Would the equipment remain dry on a Liffey boat trip thingy?

Yes.. beer at the end. As opposed to 20 mins of photo taking and then pub. That’d be a nice change :D

I love your photo there. It’s a prime example of how something can look a whole lot better up close (IMHO there could be something nicer then the Spire as our capitals centerpiece) then it does far away.
