I got a new camera over the weekend, the Canon 40D and so I brought it out for it’s first shoot to Helen’s Bay beach:

Ah, I still haven’t worked out the basic settings yet nevermind playing with custom settings. I might try them out as they are on the main dial, though I don’t usually like having on camera settings, preferring the natural look and then do all processing off-camera…
The settings store things like aperture, ISO, speed. I think I showed up my C1 – that’s my street setting: jpeg mode, auto ISO, burst mode and aperture as large as possible.
Dead handy and simple to switch to P or Av and shoot in RAW (and normal settings) for those special shots while in town.
