Interesting Belfast Graffiti

May 28th, 2009

It had been ages since I got out to take photographs around the streets of Belfast (damn rain!). However, the sun has been shiny the last few days and as such I was free to wander. Lately there seems to been a rise in a interesting bits of graffiti, mostly around South Belfast/Holy Lands:

Favourite Photo – Edward Carson

May 22nd, 2009

The statue of Edward Carson at Stormont taken a few years back.
All this talk of politics and voting lately has made me think I should maybe study-up a bit…

WorldWide Photo Walk 2009

May 21st, 2009

Scott Kelby is a Photoshop dude – Editor and publisher of what seems like a bit of a media empir – and a decent photographer. He’s running his second worldwide photo walk on 18th July. Last years photo walk I heard about after the event, this year I put my name down to lead the [...]

The Beat Goes On, And Tastes Evolve Part 1

May 20th, 2009

As I child I enjoyed music, and singing when I thought no one was around, but I was never really “into” music until I reached 14/15 or so. It was in the year I reignited a friendship with D, a friend I fell out with due to an incident a few years before.
It was only [...]

Spring Market

May 19th, 2009

It has become one of those things that make Belfast a little bit more interesting for a few weeks twice a year; the Continental Market is returning to the City Hall in Belfast for the Bank Holiday weekend. Expensive beers, German hotdogs and exotic burgers. I’ll be found there.

Fur Is Murder

May 18th, 2009

Only 10 minutes before spotting the Legalise Cannabis Protest we noticed an anti-fur protest outside a prominent fur seller Barnardo Furs (108 Grafton Street, Dublin 2), who are certainly no stranger to protests at this stage, having had locks glued and shutters spray-painted in the past. [video from recent large protest].
Personally, I think its [...]

Legalise Cannabis Protest March

May 17th, 2009

While on our way to Phoenix Park last Saturday we came across a protest march on O’Connell Street in favour of the legalisation of cannabis. The music, shouting, the smell of cannabis and sight of joints behind ears created a very exciting atmosphere.

Phoenix Park Deer

May 16th, 2009

I couldn’t believe it when Niamh turned around while driving through Phoenix Park, Dublin, along Chesterfield Avenue and said, “Look, deer”. She wasn’t wrong. There were lots and lots of deer. Everywhere. Or so it seemed in the dark light.
I was very excited at this sight. I had to get back in daylight. Soon.

That was [...]
