Fav Photo – Towards The Cranes

August 27th, 2009

I’m going to attempt to start my ‘favourite photo’ series, having not done it since before the Summer. Eventually I will run out of images, but I like the idea of documenting some of my earlier photos that haven’t seen the light of day (and maybe a few that have, but you probably haven’t seen [...]

I have a small Dock

August 26th, 2009

Grace Smith has been running an insightful series on her blog revealing the Docks of a number of graphic and web designers. We all get curious about how others use their computers, methods of organisation, workflows and the applications they use.
One thing that surprises me is the number of apps many people keep in their [...]

Spotify August Playlist

August 23rd, 2009

Since hearing of Spotify quite a few months back I’ve been using it non-stop, and totally loving it. Free music. And, well, quicker than downloading music.
There’s plenty that could be done to improve the application; a better way of saving searches, greater ability to save music so it is easily accessible again. As I listen [...]

Granny; Rest in Peace

August 20th, 2009

Early Tuesday morning my Granny passed away.
Always cheerful, always with a great sense of humour, and adored by many.
Today is her funeral.
She will be deeply missed.

Goodbye Ships of Great Height

August 17th, 2009

The Tall Ships left Belfast’s shores this afternoon, having helped the economy a little and entertained 800,000 people over the course of the 4-day festival, including an estimated 250,000 who lined the coast to see them off.
The sheer number of people to be in one place was a bit nuts in this , including a [...]

Cupcake Camp

August 16th, 2009

Yesterday the first CupCake Camp in Europe took place here in Belfast, with over 100 people in attendance and over 500 cupcakes in varying shapes, sizes and colours, each one looking extremely delicious and brilliantly creative.
The very well organised event was put together by Ciarán Madden, with lovely coffee provided by Bean and Gone.
I never [...]

Tall Ships in Belfast 2009

August 14th, 2009

18 years since the last visit of the Tall Ships in Belfast, over 400,000 people are expected to head towards the docks to check them out over the next few days. I was there today, and look forward to going a few more times before the festival closes on Sunday (no ships will be open [...]

Pillow Fight!

August 8th, 2009

Shortly after 3pm this afternoon a pillow fight took place at Custom House Square, with around 50 people present, most with pillows, many freshly bought.

The event, organised on Facebook, had no purpose other than fun. That’s what it was. There’s also a video on YouTube.
Update Monday 10th Aug:
Here’s a scan of the image along with [...]
