Since hearing of Spotify quite a few months back I’ve been using it non-stop, and totally loving it. Free music. And, well, quicker than downloading music.

There’s plenty that could be done to improve the application; a better way of saving searches, greater ability to save music so it is easily accessible again. As I listen to Spotify so often, I do often listen to music that I own and have as MP3s, but can’t be bothered searching for, though more often than not I won’t be able to think of a band I want to listen to and have to open iTunes (which I really dislike) only to scroll through my music to find the mood I’m in (or want to be in).

Or else I’ll open my LastFM profile and get some ideas there. This is the main area that I’d like Spotify to improve on. Maybe if I could view my Lastfm profile within the app, or if it saved what I have listened to previously, or allowed me to save bands/songs in a different way from just ‘playlists’.

It is still early days on this one, and I’m sure it will improve dramatically, and in turn produce competition to the market (though I doubt there will be a need for that).

Currently, Spotify is only available in the UK, unless you get an invite (though there is a little proxy work-around for that). On the other hand, I still have four invites, so if anyone wants one just let me know.
