twestival local 2009

The first Twestival took place in Feburary, with money raised going to Charity:Water, this time around Twestival Local is hitting the Bunatee bar in Queens Students Union on Thursday from 7pm in aid of Camphill NIwhich was established to teach, train and care for those with special needs because of their various mental, emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Various donations have been made from Tesco, Nifty Nosh, Lookaly, and others.

I’ll also be shooting avatar/portrait photos for those who would like them with a donation of a couple of pounds going to charity.

An “event organised *by* twitterers *for* twitterers”, Twestival is bringing people together and collecting money for a good cause. Haven’t heard of it? Surely by now you’re on Twitter, right? Both the Guardian and the Telegraph have covered it. Throw a few quid in the pot and come on down for a good time.

For full details and to register your attendance go to belfast.twestival.com

Similar events are taking place this week in Galway and Dublin. I knew I wasn’t the only one to think Tweople is just a little retarded.

Unfortunately I can’t make Twestival this time, but I hope it goes well, and you raise lots of £

Good luck with that. I don’t support Camphill’s institutional model myslf.
Also Phil, I really hate to see “retarted” used as synonymous with pathetic and/or crap. “Tweople” is certainly infantile.
