So It Is
October 19th, 2009
It was a weekend of many firsts…
On Friday I went to my first movie premier; Couples Retreat in the Savoy, Dublin, with introductions by Director Peter Billingsley, Producer Scott Stuber and Writer/Actor Vince Vaughn. Walking down the red carpet with bright lights pointing on me was fun, getting free sweets and a soft drink was nice; but more to the point, the movie was surprisingly goo– I feel weird saying “good” as it was a big budget, Hollywood chick-flick-silly-comedy set in the most beautiful surroundings with a cast of beautiful people but, it wasn’t awful. Storyline wasn’t great, but that was to be expected. It was however a very very funny film, having myself and the rest of the audience in fits of laugher throughout.

Thanks for Movies.ie for the tickets!
That was also my first time at the cinema in Dublin. The second was yesterday, when I saw the latest Pixar flick, Up 3D. As well as being the movie everyone’s been talking about since its US release in May, and now only released in these parts over a week ago, we get to join in the fuss. In this case, the fuss was true. This film is brilliant; with few complications the simple plot runs out well with loveable characters and hilariously odd talking dogs.
This was also my first 3D-movie experience; I want to do it again! It was so much fun! The added perspective, characters and debris hurtling towards the audience all with the help of a pair of Woody-Allen-style glasses. Feeling very impressed with the whole thing right now.
In another first was a stroll along Portmarnock beach.

A great weekend with *awesome* company! So it was.
