So That was 2009

December 31st, 2009

It was a great year.
I met so many great people, had many new experiences, learnt so much and had a few big changes.
My whole outlook was changed this year. I feel I’m a different person, mentally, than I was this time last year.
“We are who we meet”.
I believe this is true; through everyone we meet [...]

It wouldn’t right if I didn’t have just one list before the end of the year…

No Longer Fooled by the Anti-Climax of the Year

December 29th, 2009

I dislike crowded bars and clubs at the best of times; where the music is loud and you may as well be out on your own anyway due to the time spent queuing for a drink. It can be near impossible to hold a conversation over the noise level of those I don’t know, and [...]

Sand Dunes are Lovely

December 22nd, 2009

Portrush, West Strand Beach:

While in Portrush and Portstewart, in the North Coast of Ireland last week,I took in some of my love of trains, journeying back and fourth by the greatest mode of transport, after the travelator and aeroplanes obviously.
However, my dislike of Translink, the company who runs the Northern Ireland public transport, [...]

The White Stuff

The snow that fell in Belfast yesterday.
It doesn’t look like it’s getting warmer any time soon either.

Raging against the Machine

December 20th, 2009

So “we” won. As of early this evening Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing in the Name’ out-sold Simon Cowell’s latest “protégé”, Joe McElderry, to the number one spot in the UK singles chart.
In an era when single sales continue to dwindle, it’s certainly been a while since the race for the number one meant as [...]
