Portrush, West Strand Beach:

While in Portrush and Portstewart, in the North Coast of Ireland last week,I took in some of my love of trains, journeying back and fourth by the greatest mode of transport, after the travelator and aeroplanes obviously.

However, my dislike of Translink, the company who runs the Northern Ireland public transport, was brought out again, along many others. They don’t like people spending a night away from home: a day return to Portrush costs £10 whereas returning the next day is not possible and £10 single-journey ticket must be purchased. No wonder there’s a “staycation boom” in NI. Simply put, Translink are over-charging bastards.
