New Year’s Decisions
January 2nd, 2010
That time of the year once again, time to make idle promises about quitting, doing better, trying harder, and achieving more. And why not have a time to take a think about how it’s going, and where I want my life to go – not just in next year. I have many goals, though often too many and I get distracted and lose track of what is really important.

From being a photographer to social media guru and blogger… I have many interests and constantly enjoy learning; generally with the attitude, if it’s happening I want to know about it. My thirst for information has only gotten stronger, though this year I hope to gain more definition of what I really want and how to achieve it through more structure, organisation and control. So here’s a little list I made of what I want to do this year, and rather that call them ‘resolutions’ I feel ‘decisions’ is more apt as I will be doing them.
- Don’t get distracted so easily
- Print more photographs
- Buy more photo books
- Meet more people
- Listen to/watch more podcasts
- Get my portfolio site back online
- Improve my writing
- Watch more movies
- Write reviews
- Keep more up to date with current photography/camera markets
- Get my backup system correctly in order
- Get provisional driving license (and contemplate getting lessons)
- Go to the theatre more
- Attend more classical concerts
- Learn to cook better
- Exercise
- Develop more ideas
On a more global note:
“This year try to do even more good. Make your New Year’s resolution to include living life more altruistically in 2010″ – DoGood is an app for the iPhone/iTouch aiming to unite “300,000 to do the same act of kindness in a day”
