I start my 365 day project as a challenge for 2010. It's the first time I'm trying to do... so. At the current moment I'm trying to make a monthly theme, this one was studies and work, because most of my time now was passed at home studding for the exams. Next month I will challenge myself with another thing... and the days are longer too. I hope to learn, in this way, how to win some daily habits (I suck on that) and learning dealing with creativity.

And like Kate said, it's a photographic diary :) (And a flickr filler too :P)

Thanks for the plug there Phil :)

I had two reasons for undertaking the 365 day challenge. Firstly, I wanted to take myself out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. I knew mundane photos would crop up eventually but I wanted to see if that would help with my photographic creativity - I'm not sure I'm doing very well so far but hopefully by December I will have improved! The second reason was really just to document a year of my life - a photographic diary if you will.

Considering I just changed from posting daily photos to every 3 days I don't think I'll be doing a photo365 thing any time soon. I work from home too so photos in the kitchen would appear quite quickly me thinks!

The unfortunate thing about photoblogs is that it can take quite some time to go out and take a photo, come home and work on it, but it only takes a second for a reader to scan your blog in their feedreader and move on to the next photoblog.

Oh, love the last photo. The glowing "WAIT" really catches the eye and the flurry of snow goes to show how dedicated you have to be to take photos sometimes. :)

I'll be continuing, and wrapping up my Day 516 project this year. It's basically an elongated photo365 that I started the day I left Ireland and extended to an arbitrary future point. One motivation was, as you wrote about above, to get (back) into the habit of taking photographs, a forced engagement so-to-speak. The other side of it was to chronicle a journey and have a daily outlet through which to post thoughts about travel, design, photography, emigration… all that's personal and important to me.

I agree that the days you start posting pictures of the kitchen, or yourself in the bathroom mirror, are a low point but I see them more as a "necessary evil", a temporary lull, far outweighed by the advantages.
